Twitter & Traffic
A lot of people twitter spam. Although twitter has minimized the amount of spammers (fake accounts), some still get through. So why do people spam? Traffic obviously, but wouldn’t you think the traffic is complete garbage? It’s not targeted, there’s no back link weight (they use nofollow) so how can it really effective at all?
Well, speaking from speculation (as I’m not a first hand twitter spammer), it can be very effective based on the quality of your feed – but I wouldn’t really call it spam if you do it right. If you don’t bloat your twitter feed with random urls to your product or affiliate links, some people out there might just read it! But more importantly is the feed aspect where you can include your twitter on multiple platforms and websites.
So really this is valuable because your url will potentially appear in a lot more places than JUST twitter, especially if you have a decent following. There a lot of “success” stories about people making a killing off twitter spamming, but in reality I think people who sell the twitter spamming tools are the ones making the bank.
In conclusion don’t be ass and spam with random accounts. If you utilize twitter to market your product, create a quality feed and people will pick up it more and be more likely to click your links!
